Upcoming datums such as NATRF2022 will require software capable of kinematic coordinate transformation and description of those transformations with standards such as OGC WKTv2. Recent enhancements to the PROJ and GDAL open source geospatial projects now provide support for kinematic coordinate transformations, time-dependent late binding transformation pipelines described by OGC WKTv2, and selection of "best" transforms based on the IOGP EPSG database. GDAL and PROJ are foundational capability of several software including QGIS, PDAL, PostGIS, and Spatialite, and these new geodesy capabilities are being reflected into them as they are updated. We will discuss how these projects were updated to include these enhancements, illustrate issues that may arise when interchanging data with other systems, and provide examples of how to take advantage of these new capabilities in your own software and data processing pipelines.
